Uvaldo Gonzalez, 42, of the Bronx, NY, stabbed one Port Authority Police officer six to seven times in the torso and twice in the head while trying to steal a police vehicle on the bridge sometime between 2:35 a.m. and 3 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, according to a criminal complaint obtained by Daily Voice.

The complaint also says Gonzalez opened the passenger side door of the car, got in, locked the car, and then tried to put the vehicle in gear, hitting the gas. He kicked and punched two different officers who were placing him in handcuffs, police paperwork says.

That all happened after Gonzalez crashed a stolen vehicle into a business on Route 46 in South Hackensack and then carjacked another vehicle, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

A short time later, the vehicle carjacked from the business in South Hackensack was found disabled on the George Washington Bridge. That's when PAPD responded and found Gonzalez, who attacked them.

The criminal complaint says Gonzalez "appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the offense" and had a crack pipe on him.

Once Gonzalez was in handcuffs, he was taken to a local area hospital and remains in custody pending charges.
